Pean-buiten rents out four group accommodations in Friesland, all on the water: three on our own property at Pean-buiten Akkrum on the Frisian lakes and one on Pean-buiten Weidum, close to Leeuwarden. One is a converted hay barn, the other a farmhouse from 1867. What they share: you have the whole house to yourselves.

Are you looking for a group? For eight people? Then the Voorhuis, our holiday home at Pean-buiten Akkrum. Ten to sixteen people: Swarm. Eighteen to twenty people: the group accommodation at Pean-buiten Weidum. Fifteen to forty people: De Berch. Thirty to ninety people: De Jister with the Buthus, with 62 beds.
If your group falls between two sizes, with 22, 25, or 35 people, it will almost always fit. In doing so, look at the living space, not the beds: that determines whether everyone fits at the table on Saturday evening.
How many people fit in the old milking parlor?
The Jister was once the cowshed. Now there is a bar and two wood stoves, and it is the place where you spend the day: up to ninety people during the day, and up to one hundred and twenty with the Sinnekant included.
And where do you sleep?
Next door, in the Bûthûs: 62 beds in eight bedrooms. You cook in the large professional kitchen of De Jister. And the grounds are three hectares, so you won't get in each other's way.
What was De Berch in the past?
A haystack. Now forty people sleep in eleven rooms, with fifty beds: three rooms downstairs, eight upstairs. The living space is designed for about forty; including the conservatory, fifty people fit at the table.
Do you cook yourself?
That is possible: De Berch has its own professional kitchen, even for forty people. There is a private forty-meter jetty right outside the door, and the capacity is full all year round, even in winter.
And what if you come with a smaller group?
Then Swarm is probably enough: three water lodges side by side, Goudûle, Ljip, and Skries, which you book together. A total of sixteen beds in seven bedrooms, for ten to sixteen people.
How do you divide the group?
In Goudûle, cooking and eating take place; two people sleep there. Ljip sleeps six, Skries eight, each in three bedrooms. You are close to each other, but not on top of each other.
Is there also something for a family of eight?
Yes: Het Voorhuis in Akkrum, a holiday home for eight. Four bedrooms, a private kitchen, and underfloor heating. The terrace is located by the water, and the private jetty of over ten meters is for your exclusive use.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes. Downstairs a bedroom with two single beds, upstairs a room with a bunk bed and two with a double bed. Behind the house a garden, and a second terrace overlooking the old milk harbour.
And on Pean-buiten Weidum, with its own sauna?
This includes a private sauna for six people, built into the 1867 farmhouse; no reservation is required. You will sleep in that same farmhouse: eighteen people in eight rooms, seven bathrooms, two with bathtubs.
Are children allowed to come along?
Yes, children are perfectly welcome in a group, and so is the dog. More than eighteen? Then book the seventh farm room, up to twenty, although the common areas are not designed for that many.
Can you come all year round?
Yes. All four spots are bookable all year round. The cost is listed on a separate page. The rates and rental conditions
There is no minimum number of nights, not even in the high season. So one night is also possible.
And no deposit is required anywhere, neither for the stay nor for the boats. Sloops, SUP boards, and canoes are available for rent all year round, and you do not need a boating license for any of our boats.
Are you looking for a farm campsite?
Then you've come to the right place. The Jister was a milking shed, the Berch a haystack. They are both located on Pean-buiten Akkrum, by the water. What is provided varies by building. In De Berch and in De Jister with the Buthus, a mattress cover and a pillow with a pillowcase are provided; you bring the rest yourself, or you can book made-up beds with a duvet, duvet cover, and towels.
In the Front House on Pean-buiten Akkrum and in the group accommodation at Pean-buiten In Weidum, the beds are made and you don't need to bring anything.
The sanitary facilities also differ. In the Buthus, there are two toilets and six showers for the entire group, and in De Jister, there are additionally four ladies' toilets, two men's toilets, and three urinals. On Pean-buiten In Weidum, every farmhouse room has its own shower and toilet, and there are seven bathrooms, two of which have a bathtub.
Who usually comes?
Families, groups of friends, companies, and schools. Music associations too.

What is the difference between the two locations?
Pean-buiten Akkrum is situated directly next to De Alde Feanen National Park; Pean-buiten Weidum on the Elfstedenwater, eight kilometers from Leeuwarden, with a restaurant on the premises. Akkrum is Green Key Gold certified, and Weidum is well on its way.
