Pean-buiten has two official wedding venues. Pean-buiten Weidum: a farmhouse from 1867 on the Elfstedenwater, eight kilometers from Leeuwarden. Pean-buiten Akkrum: directly on De Alde Feanen National Park, with the water lodges at the jetty.
What is the difference?
Op Pean-buiten In Weidum, a wedding can also be held separately, with a real restaurant on the premises. On Pean-buiten In Akkrum, a wedding is part of a stay or activity, with the entire group in the group accommodations.
What you practically need to know
Weidum: De Deel for seventy at the table and one hundred and fifty standing, a garden of 900 m², an orchard, and the meadow grounds. Akkrum: De Jister for sixty at the table and 120 standing, three hectares of land with a food forest.
Can your guests stay overnight?
At Weidum with 54 beds: the farmhouse, ten cottages for two, and two houseboats. At Akkrum with 180 beds: twelve water lodges and three group accommodations. Prices upon request, always including VAT.

Op Pean-buiten Restaurant WeidumerHout is located on the grounds in Weidum, featuring a chef and the new Frisian cuisine: local products, following the seasons, and vegetarian options. Allergies and dietary requirements are accommodated.
And on Pean-buiten Akkrum?
There, you cook yourselves in one of the two professional kitchens, or food is arranged for the entire group: a dinner, drinks with snacks, a buffet, or a barbecue, at long tables in De Jister.
Sleeping at the location, with all guests
Would you like to enjoy yourselves longer? Your guests can stay overnight, so the wedding lasts a whole weekend. At Weidum in the farmhouse, the tiny houses, the meadow suites, and the houseboats.
And by the water in Akkrum?
There, the family sleeps in the water lodges with their own terrace and wood-burning stove, and the rest of the party in De Jister, De Berch, or Swarm. Children are welcome at a party.
Peace outside, party inside
Both locations are situated in tranquility: Weidum amidst the meadows along the Elfsteden routes, and Akkrum directly on De Alde Feanen. During the day, the grounds are yours for the ceremony, drinks, and photos.
Until what time can the party go on?
Op Pean-buiten Weidum noisy outside until 23:00, inside until 01:00 if the seven farm rooms are booked, otherwise until 22:00. On Pean-buiten In Akkrum, it is quiet on the grounds from 23:00.
Any weather is good weather
With three hectares of outdoor space per location and De Deel or De Jister as indoor venues, there is always a place to celebrate your wedding. Sun: the orchard, the terrace, or the jetty. Rain: the farmhouse or the old cowshed.
What if it changes during the day?
The program then moves indoors, in consultation with the team on the day itself. The spaces are laid out for this type of occasion, so the ceremony, dinner, and party all fit.
A stretch tent in the yard
A stretch tent provides extra space to be outdoors in any weather. Sunny or a little drizzly, your guests will be comfortable, and it looks beautiful between the buildings and the greenery.
Are you arranging that yourselves?
Op Pean-buiten In Akkrum, a 76 m² stretch tent stands at the Sinnekant; on Pean-buiten One is placed in Weidum upon request. You may dress and decorate it yourself, and the group cleans it up themselves afterwards.

The ceremony and the wedding officiant
Pean-buiten works with various wedding officiants; you decide for yourselves who suits you best. The ceremony can take place outdoors, in the orchard or by the water, or indoors.
How is the day coordinated?
Together with the team of Pean-buiten: times, setup, music, and the location of the ceremony, so that everything is just right on your big day. You may bring your own DJ or band; they will bring their own sound system.
Out on the water during the wedding weekend
Both locations are situated on the water. With an electric sloop, a SUP board, or a canoe, your guests discover Friesland from a different perspective, without a boating license. On Pean-buiten Akkrum can also go sailing, in a Polyvalk or with a skipper.
Who does that enjoy?
For the morning after the party: a quiet trip on the water, past reeds and meadows. Or for the children, with the canoes. The boats are available for rent all year round.

There is no basic venue rental and no starting price: the price depends on the number of guests, food and drinks, overnight stays, and what you choose to add. All amounts include VAT.
